Now is the Time to Get Involved in Government Affairs
Mid-term elections are just around the corner so now is the time to become more informed about the issues which affect your business. Our association is always a good resource for vital information on which state and federal candidates have supported our industry in the past.
If you are going support a candidate then you should make sure they have your best interests at heart. A great way to show your support is to donate to the MHRA PAC. We take the time to question and research each candidate that we support. We get their stance on the issues which affect our industry. We look at their voting record. We look at their background. We try to do everything to insure that your PAC donations are well spent. By donating to the MHRA PAC you are making a big difference in our industry.
A few of us recently attended the National Restaurant Association Public Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C. We had a chance to meet with most of our Congressmen and both of our Senators. We are very lucky to have a Congressional delegation that understands and supports our industry. They are all aware that the Health Care legislation is a potential job killer. Regulation seems to be the best option to limit the affect that it will have on small business. It always helps for them to hear from people in their districts so don’t be shy about voicing your concerns to them.
Please remember that the best way to insure the future of our industry is to get involved and make a difference.
